On 12 January 2026, the Department of Chemistry was delighted to host the CHEM Open Sem Gathering, marking the end of Semester 1 and welcoming Semester 2!

Faculty members, undergraduates, MSc, and RPg students were invited to join this meaningful evening, which featured inspiring sharings, fun games, live music, and a lucky draw. Our Head of Department, Prof. Kelvin Leung, opened the night with a warm welcome, followed by insightful sharing from Prof. Kangning Ren (Associate Head, Research) and Prof. Catherine Hor (Assistant Professor).

Big thanks to our Year 2 BTS Class Representatives for organizing the entertaining games, and to our talented performers— Global STEM Chair Professor Prof. David Parker, course instructor Dr. Henry Chan, and Year 2 BTS student Aaryn —for bringing fantastic live music. The evening concluded with a lucky draw and exciting prizes.
