Prof. Raymond Wong Wai-yeung wins Lectureship Award from Japanese Photochemistry Association

Prof. Raymond Wong Wai-yeung was presented with the Lectureship Award for Asian and Oceanian Photochemist (Eikohsha Award) by the Japanese Photochemistry Association at its Annual Meeting on Photochemistry 2014 held in Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan on 12 October 2014. This annual award is presented to only one eminent scientist in the Asian and Oceanian region for the scientist’s outstanding research in any aspect of photochemistry. 

The Award was presented to Professor Wong in recognition of his distinguished contributions to “Photofunctional Metallopolyynes and Metallophosphors: New Multifunctional Materials with Emerging Applications”. Professor Wong said, “The interaction with scholars worldwide and students has inspired me to generate new ideas for my future research.”

Professor Wong’s current projects focus on the development of sustainable energy sources and improvement in light/electrical energy conversion technologies.
