Collaborating with mainland China scholars, Prof. W. H. Chan receives the Education Ministry
Prof. Chan Wing-Hong joining the research team with members from Hunan University and Peking University received the "First Class Natural Sciences Award
" in the 2011 Excellent Science Research Achievement Award for Higher Institutions
. The Award was administrated and conferred by the Ministry of Education, China.
The title of their collaborative project is "New Strategies for Fluorescent Probe Design and Signal Transduction
". Members of the research team are Ronghua Yang, Weihong Tan, Na Shao, Jishan Li, Keon Li and Winghong Chan. The participating institutions are Hunan University, Peking University and Hong Kong Baptist University.
This year, 44 projects were awarded with First Class Award and 63 projects awarded with Second Class Award in the category of "Natural Sciences Award".
Over the period of ten years (2000-2010), the project team has jointly published 65 articles in international high impact journals (e.g. Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Anal. Chem., Chem. Commun.
etc.). Up to date, their published works have received a total of 1275 citations from peers.
